This metabug will track several polish changes and interface improvements for the add-ons manager in Firefox 4.0.
While much of the heavy lifting of rewriting the add-ons manager API and its move into the content area have been done, several polish fixes are needed before the manager is ready for release.
The general theme of these improvements is cleanup and simplification. While some of these bugs are continuations of the previous design, others are the result of feedback and testing from using the new manager in nightly builds of Firefox. In particular, the complexity of list view mode became apparent from everyday usage, and most of the bugs this metabug tracks are attempts to simplify this important overview of installed add-ons.

The Proposal misses a global Info Bar concerning the Status introduced by Bug 566194 with Bug 623207 done, no?

Correct. With only one sorting method (alphabetic), providing such a bar is no longer necessary. If in future versions we have useful metrics such as relative performance if add-ons, then sorting once again becomes a useful function and the bar may serve a purpose.

This bug was for tracking the improvement work for Firefox 4, it has outlived its usefulness.
